Who we are

The Marshes are a band. This notice explains what personal information we collect through themarshes.co.uk, why we collect it and what your rights are. For anything about your information, contact us using our contact form.

What we collect

When you send a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if you give one) and your message. The website also records your IP address and browser details with each message, which helps us spot spam.

We don't collect anything else about you unless you accept analytics cookies (see Cookies below).

How we use it

We use your details only to reply to your message, for example about a booking or a press enquiry. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: answering enquiries people send us. We don't use your details for marketing, and we never sell them.

When you send a message, you also get an automatic email confirming we've received it, with a copy of what you sent.

Who sees it

Your message is emailed to our band manager. It's also stored in the website, which is looked after by our web developer, Blue Rock Digital, and hosted by 20i in the UK. They only handle it to run the website for us.

How long we keep it

Messages stored in the website are deleted automatically after 12 months. Emails are kept only for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry.

Cookies

The website works without cookies. If you click Accept on our cookie banner, we use Google Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they look at, so we can improve the site. Google Analytics then sets cookies, and Google processes this information for us.

If you don't accept, Google Analytics doesn't set any cookies on your device; it only receives basic information that doesn't identify you, such as that a page was viewed. A small cookie remembers your choice either way, and you can change your mind at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.

Links to Google Maps, Instagram and Facebook take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to how we use it. Contact us using our contact form and we'll reply within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice, we'll update the date at the top.
